The Nursery at Davenport Lodge

Babies@davenportlodgeschool nursery offers 35 places to babies and toddlers from 6 weeks old. It operates on the school site and is registered and inspected by Ofsted. One stop care and education is therefore available from 0-8 years at Davenport Lodge School. It is a small scale stimulating nursery that ensures babies and toddlers are cared for in a safe, bright and airy environment in a family friendly manner. The nursery has a fully equipped kitchen and a qualified cook to provide babies and children with fresh and healthy meals. Ours is a fully inclusive service with all meals, snacks, drinks, nappies and baby formula being supplied.

The nursery's activities for children are based on the new Early Years Foundation Stage framework.   "Welfare provision for children in EYFS is outstanding.  The children develop close and supportive relationships with their key person.  Excellent policies and procedures are in place for securing the children's health, well-being and protection.  This excellent quality care provided for the children is recognised and appreciated by parents"  Independent Schools Inspectorate report, May 2009.

Ongoing communication with parents supports individual children as they learn and develop.  Careful individual induction prepares babies and toddlers as they approach three years old to transfer to school. 

The nursery has recently benefited from being redesigned with high quality resources and fittings from the American based company Community Playthings.  These permit greater flexibility in room organisation and in catering for the "Unique Child".
