A personalised approach supports children's early introduction to the basic skills of literacy and mathematical knowledge. A strong emphasis is placed on the development of literacy in the Early Years. "Reading is the key to everything" in the context of early learning, said the Principal at a recent parent workshop. "Mathematical development and science investigation are also fundamental at this early stage as is access to information technology which has become part of our timetable from three years old.

Careful planning focuses on broader areas of the curriculum. Well chosen activities and investigation help children find out about the "how" and "why" of new learning".
