Mrs Maureen Martin

Mrs Martin was formerly a chartered librarian with the public library service in Coventry and following a family career break, she became Principal and proprietor of Davenport Lodge School in 1986.
Her interest in early years education led her to take a Philosophy of Education honours degree at Warwick University from where she graduated in 1996. Her tutor was Tricia David who collaborated in divising the Birth to Three Framework. Pursuing this passion further she served on a range of sub-committees of the Early Years and Childcare Partnership in the city from 1999. Mrs Martin gained qualified teacher status in 2002.
Through membership of the Independent Schools Association, she has become involved as a regional member of their Arts and Festival sub-committee and in this role organised many annual children's art competitions for nearly 60 schools in the Midland region.
Mrs Martin is an inspector for the Independent Schools Inspectorate specialising in Foundation Stage practice. She is a board member of the Coventry Arts and Heritage Trust.
Mrs Martin is an experienced teacher of children from two to five years old. A speaker on Early Years Education she is currently involved in training practitioners in the new Early Years Foundation Stage.
Her interests are world travel, early years education, reading, comparative religions, golf, swimming and skiing.
